New Delhi: Tremors from an earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale were felt in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday night.
“A magnitude 2.5 earthquake struck 8 km west of New Delhi at approximately 9:30 pm today. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km underground,” the National Seismological Center said in a tweet.
Recently, large earthquakes occurred in Indonesia and Nepal, causing many deaths and property damage.
On November 21, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake hit West Java, Indonesia, killing 321 people.
The quake also injured 7,729 people, destroyed 58,049 homes and displaced as many as 73,693 people in Zhanzhuer District, one of the hardest-hit areas
On November 9, a 6.3-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal, killing 6 people and damaging many houses. Delhi-NCR also felt the tremors from the quake.
