Ambala: Haryana Home Affairs Minister Anil Vij said Haryana has made adequate security arrangements for the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
The yatra will enter its second phase in Haryana on January 5.
“We are making comprehensive security arrangements for him (Gandhi) in Haryana,” Vijay told reporters here on Sunday.
“We’ve turned to them (Congress) for route and stop information, and for full security from the authorities,” he said.
A foot march organized by the Congress is scheduled to enter the Kurdish village of Sanauli in Panipat District on the evening of January 5. It will enter Haryana from neighboring Uttar Pradesh.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra will recover from Kashmere Gate in Delhi on Tuesday (January 3) and enter Loni in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district that afternoon.
The yatra, currently on winter break, will resume from Hanuman Mandir at Kashmere Gate on Tuesday at 10am.
The first phase of the foot march in Haryana between December 21 and 23 covered more than 130 kilometers through the Nuh, Gurugram and Faridabad districts.
As a mass engagement initiative of the Congress, the yatra started from Kanyakumari on 7th September with the first phase covering Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana , Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and Delhi.
