Hyderabad: Samantha Ruth Prabhu has quelled rumors that she’s taking an extended leave of absence as she begins taping for her upcoming film.
The actress, who was recently diagnosed with myositis, took to social media to announce she was back at work. She shared a photo she recorded for her upcoming film Shaakuntalam.
On her Instagram page, Samantha quotes author Nikki Rowe as saying she finds solace in her work.
“Art is my cure for all this madness, sadness and loss of belonging in the world, through which I bring myself home. – Nikki Rowe,” she wrote with the hashtag “Shaakuntalam” of her upcoming film name.
Rumors swirled that the actress was on an extended sabbatical, which led to her pulling out of Family Guy director Raj and DK’s next project, Castle. However, she denied all these rumors.
Samantha impressed everyone with her performance in “Yashoda” and besides “Citadel” there have been a string of interesting projects including “Shaakuntalam” and “Kushi” with Vijay Deverakonda.
Last year, she made a big splash on “Oo Antava” from “Pushpa: The Rise.” In October, she was diagnosed with a rare condition called myositis, which weakens muscles. Since then, rumors have swirled around her.
The actress was determined to overcome the odds. She started the new year on a positive note. “Take control as much as we can!! I think it’s time for newer and simpler resolutions…ones that are kinder and gentler to ourselves. God bless 2023!!” she wrote on Instagram.
