Hyderabad: Get ready for chilly nights as the winter chill has yet to pack your bags from the state capital. The meteorological department predicts that the extreme cold weather will continue until January 11.
For the first time this season, most parts of Hyderabad recorded single-digit minimums.
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the city will enter severe cold weather due to the disturbance in the west. Fog warnings are also in place.
While minimum temperatures are likely to drop below 13C almost everywhere, LB Nagar, Rajendranagar, Hayathnagar and Karwan districts are on alert as overnight temperatures here are likely to reach single digits on Monday.
During the period, the highest temperature in the city may be between 27 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius.
A cold snap could hit the rest of the state over the next three days as minimum temperatures are expected to drop below 10C.
Code Orange warnings have been issued for Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Adilabad, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Mancherial, Nirmal, Peddapalli, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar and Warangal.
The lowest temperature in the city on Saturday was 18.7C. Bitter coldness persists in parts as mercury continues its downward trend.
