Devarakonda MLA Ravindra Kumar Naik handed out compensation checks to farmers displaced by the Veeraboinapally Canal at his camp office in Nalgonda district on Sunday.
Nalgonda: Devarakonda MLA Ramavath Ravindra Kumar said on Sunday that the state government is keen to ensure that farmers displaced by irrigation projects do not suffer losses.
After distributing compensation checks to 32 displaced farmers in Veeraboinapally Canal under Dindi’s enhanced irrigation scheme, Ravindra Kumar said the state government is extending the best relief and recovery (R&R) program to those displaced by irrigation projects. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has prepared an R&R package that will not allow any loss or injustice to the displaced farmers.
Pointing out that the BRS government has embarked on irrigation projects with the aim of extending irrigation facilities to every acre in the state, he said Devarakonda assembly constituency will be the state with the most reservoirs and water lift irrigation schemes.
