IT and Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao addressed the conference after laying the foundation stone for a school in Kodurupaka, Boinpalli mandal, on Tuesday.

Rajanna-Sircilla: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao said after various measures taken by the state government, the level of education in Telangana has improved a lot.

The Minister informed that Rs 180 billion has been released for reimbursement of expenses and said that more than 700 gurukulam schools have been established across the state to provide quality education to underprivileged students. Each year, each student spends Rs 1.2 lakh.

Rama Rao was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a primary school in Kodurupaka, Boinpalli mandal, on Tuesday. The minister built the school at a cost of Rs 2 crore out of his own pocket in memory of his grandparents Joginipalli Keshavarao and Laxmibai.

In his speech, the minister said since the establishment of medical colleges in all 33 districts under the able leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, more underprivileged students have had the opportunity to pursue MBBS.

To improve public school facilities, the state government has launched the Mana Ooru Mana Badi scheme. Under the plan, 26,000 schools will be built in three phases at a cost of Rs 73 billion.

After the introduction of Palle Pragathi, rural areas are experiencing huge growth. Of the 20 best villages in the country, 19 are from Telangana. The people of Telangana are proud that 26 of the best cities in the country are from the state.

Rajanna-Sircilla district ranks first in the Swachh Sarvekshan ranking, while Karimnagar ranks second.

Talking about the development of the school in the memory of his grandparents, Ramarao said that power is not permanent, but more important is to have a permanent place in the hearts of the people.

Informing him that Rythu Vedika had been built in Kodurupaka in memory of his grandparents, the minister promised to complete the school construction within nine months.
