Hyderabad: The Indian Army has undertaken the revitalization and development of four ponds in Hyderabad as part of the ‘Mission Amrit Sarovars’.
The water bodies that are being rejuvenated are Gopala Pond between Center Mandir and Golden Palm Sports Plaza, 1 EME Centre, Kowkoor Road, Risala Market, AOC Centre, Secunderabad, near Mahendra Hills and around 1 Trg Regt, Arty Centre, Hyderabad. This task was undertaken by the headquarters Telangana and Andhra Sub Area using their resources to clear, widen and increase the depth of the existing sarovars.
To contribute to nation building and commemorate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Army Day 2023, Indian Army has launched ‘Amrit Sarovars Mission’ and spread the message of ‘Jal Hai Toh Jeevan Hain’ to engage the community and inspire them to take the initiative .
Indian Army Southern Command has identified and carried out operations in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Raja The movement of 75 Sarovars was revived and developed in different parts of Stambong.
