Hyderabad: The Heartfulness Education Trust (HET), in partnership with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), Government of India, organized a three-day Agriculture Youth Summit at Kanha Shanti Vanam, on the outskirts of the city.
It was opened by ICAR Deputy Director General RC Agarwal and HET Guide Kamlesh Patel Daaji. The summit aims to empower the country’s youth studying agriculture through knowledge transfer and know-how, while keeping meditative minds at the heart of agricultural progress.
HET and ICAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding in August 2022 to hold a summit on 12-13 January to help more than 200,000 students studying agriculture in India utilize HET’s resources.
Students are expected to gain insight into the Heartfulness facility as well as Kanha Shanti Vanam through their explorations including tissue culture labs, biochar projects and hydroponics.
Access to the summit also includes course credit (30 hours for a 2-credit course), so attendance is also counted.
“It is a matter of great pride for me to host this Agricultural Youth Festival in one of the most beautiful places in our country on the auspicious occasion of the birth of Swami Vivekananda and have a great motivator – Daaji,” said ICAR Deputy Director General RC Agarwal.
