Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday called for changes to the country’s farming model to pave the way for quality growth in his state.
Inspired by the revolutionary advances in the agricultural sector of Telangana, he said India will usher in a complete revolution when farming is transformed into a joyous festival for the entire farming community of the country.
He stressed the need to change the model of the country’s agricultural sector with the cooperation and collective efforts of all the people.
KCRC also sends greetings to the farmers and people of Telangana and India on the occasion of Bhogi, Makar Sankranti and Kanuma festivals.
The Chief Minister said Sankranti is a farmers’ festival celebrated on the auspicious occasion when paddy rice arrives from the fields to their homes. The Sankranti festival is farmers’ thanksgiving to Mother Earth.
KCR, as Rao is known, claims that with the Telangana government’s campaign to revitalize the agricultural sector, Telangana villages with their green farmlands, piles of grain stocks, cows and the smell of sweet earth are brightening the country. Sankranti.
He said the progress made in Telangana’s agricultural sector has become a model for the entire country.
President Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) said Telangana is the only state spending billions of rupees to strengthen the agriculture sector. He noted that the government has spent more than Rs 216,000 crore for Rythu Bandhu, free 24-hour electricity and construction of irrigation projects. He added that this is a testament to the commitment of the Telangana government to the welfare of farmers.
With the implementation of the state government’s revolutionary action plan for farmers’ welfare and agricultural development activities, the arable land area has increased from 1.31 million acres at the formation of Telangana to 2.4 million acres. According to KCR, this is a revolutionary development for the country’s agricultural sector.
He claimed that farming, which used to be considered a futile occupation, is now a productive one in Telangana and instilled in farmers the confidence to rely on agriculture to create a good life. He made it clear that similar confidence would be built across the farming community in India.
