Hyderabad: The first episode of “All About Movies,” Spotify’s original podcast hosted by film critic Anupama Chopra, features Tanmay Bhat as they discuss his experience in the film industry.
This stand-up comedy recounts his time backstage at film awards and sheds light on the ever-changing film industry.
Tanmay recalls meeting Shah Rukh Khan for the first time when he and Rohan Joshi were writing a program for the ICICI Awards hosted by King Khan.
“He was supposed to come at 5 and the show was at 6 and he was delayed 15 minutes. He came and we didn’t think he could do it in 20 minutes. We went to his room and got him through quickly Script. He took 10 minutes and then walked up to us and he was like this happened first and then this happened and we were like how does he know everything? Shah Rukh looked at his phone and said this player went in One ball and Rohan was like I wasn’t even keeping up with the football game!” said the comedian.
Tanmay then commented on the changing landscape of film marketing. “Previously, the (top) layer of marketing was the IIM, but now it will be swamped by creators,” he said.
New episodes of the podcast will be released every Thursday. With an exciting line-up of badminton champion PV Sindhu, journalist Faye D’Souza, mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik, LGBTQIA+ activist and influencer Sushant Divgikar, Cred founder Kunal Shah and more, “All About Movies” will feature conversations and discuss films with guests and their passion for film.
