Hyderabad: With the rapid growth of renewable energy, especially solar energy, and the increasing demand for solar panels in the state, Telangana Scheduled Castes Co-Operative Development Corporation Limited has undertaken an initiative to train youth in the SC community on solar panel installation . It has partnered with the Institute for Rural Skills Empowerment (RISE) to provide skills development and training in solar system installation and computing.
According to company officials, the training will be offered to unemployed SC youth for three months at the Rural Skills Empowerment Training Center in Madhapur. The entire cost of the training program, including accommodation and food, will be borne by the company. The official informed that the minimum qualification to participate in the training program is Class 10 or intermediate pass and candidates should be between 18-25 years old.
During the training, experts and tenured trainers will train the youth in technical skills, soft skills and communication, a RISE official said. “The training will include classroom courses as well as hands-on training specially designed by RISE,” he said.
With the rapid development of the solar industry, there is a high demand for skilled solar panel installers in the country, a senior SC Corporation official said. “Those who are willing to start their career in this field need to receive practical training and knowledge about the solar industry and its nuances before he can be placed by good companies. Hence, we decided to train SC youth,” he revealed.
The new batch of 35 candidates will begin training on Jan. 20, the official said. So far, three groups of people have been trained, and most of them have found jobs in private enterprises.
