Hyderabad: More than 11,120 women have participated in the Arogya Mahila programme, which provides comprehensive healthcare facilities dedicated to women of all ages at government hospitals every Tuesday.
On the first Tuesday, March 14, a total of 4,793 women were screened, while on the second Tuesday, March 21, some 6,328 women received healthcare services in government hospitals.
Launched on the occasion of International Women’s Day, the scheme is initially offered in 100 government hospitals and will be expanded to 1,200 healthcare facilities in the coming months. As part of this programme, the health department is organizing specialized health camps for women, providing 57 different types of healthcare services in government hospitals.
Of the 6,328 women screened on March 21, a total of 3,753 were screened for breast cancer, 3,783 for oral cancer, 884 for cervical cancer and 718 for urinary tract infection (UTI ), 1029 were screened for micronutrient deficiencies, 777 were screened for thyroid, 477 were tested for vitamin D, and 1294 women were tested for CPB.
