New Delhi: India recorded 1,590 new Covid-19 infections and six deaths in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday
With the new deaths, the death toll from the virus reached 5,30,824. Of the six deaths, three were from Maharashtra and one each from Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
The total number of active cases in India has risen to 8,601, or 0.02% of the total number of cases. 910 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,4162,832. Hence, India has a recovery rate of 98.79%.
Meanwhile, the daily positivity rate was 1.33%, while the weekly positivity rate was 1.23%.
Also during the same period, a total of 1,19,560 tests were conducted across the country, bringing the total to 920,800.
A total of 220.65 million doses of the new coronavirus vaccine have been administered so far, including 9497 doses administered in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said.
