Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is considering banning the use of mobile phones and pen drives in its premises. It was part of an administrative reform after the leaked test papers.
Other reforms under consideration include a new bill on leaking test papers that would punish those found guilty with 10 years in prison and heavy sentences. This will be done after studying the Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh models.
In addition to considering a separate code of conduct for its staff, the committee also plans to recruit separately for its office staff. Officials are considering the recruitment of junior assistants and assistant section chiefs in two phases, including an initial exam and a main exam. For these positions, PG in courses such as law and IT may be an extra requirement.
Changes being considered by the TSPSC include banning new recruits from taking future recruitment tests, using the services of individuals and agencies for confidential work and conducting exams.
Officials are also working to strengthen its front office and reduce external interfaces, an effective grievance redress system and a strong system for dealing with rumors, misunderstandings and concerns that may arise among government job applicants.
