CBI conducts 8-hour questioning of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav over land work scam on Saturday

New Delhi: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav was questioned for eight hours by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on the land fraud case on Saturday.
Tejashwi Yadav arrived at the CBI headquarters around 10.40am. He was allowed to take a lunch break in the afternoon.His questioning continued until 8.05pm
After leaving the CBI headquarters, he went to meet his sister, Misa Bharti, who was questioned by the ED.
Tejashwi Yadav skipped three citations earlier.
He was summoned to participate in the investigation on March 4, 11 and 14. Last time, Tejashwi did not take part in the investigation, citing his wife’s health problems.
The investigative body recently grilled former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and former Union Railways Minister Ralu Prasad on the matter.
In its case, the CBI claimed that, during the investigation, it was found that the accused conspired with the then General Manager and CPO of Central Railways to hire persons in their names or in the names of close relatives to replace land Lalu Prasad. ) family.
The CBI has filed charges against then Union Railways Minister Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi, two daughters and 15 others, including unknown public servants and private individuals.
“Between 2004 and 2009, he received pecuniary benefits in the form of transfers of land properties in the names of family members rather than appointing replacements in Group ‘D’ positions in different parts of the railway,” an official said.
Some residents of Patna, either themselves or through their families, sold and gifted their land in support of Lalu Prasad’s family members and a private company controlled by Lalu Prasad and his family.
“There was no advertisement or any announcement of such appointment of a replacement in Zonal Railways but the appointees who were appointed as residents of Patna were appointed to the various Zonal Railways located in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur and Hazipur. Substitute.
“In continuation of this modus operandi, Lalu Prasad and his family acquired an immovable land of approximately 1,05,292 sq. ft. in Patna through five deeds of sale and two deeds of gift, showing that most of the payments made to the vendors in cash land transfer,” the CBI had said.
