Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police special investigation unit investigating the leakage of TSPSC exam papers has detained another individual from Mahabubnagar district.
The man, Prashanth, a relative of one of the suspects, Rajasekhar Reddy, was arrested earlier in the case and allegedly sat and qualified for the Group I preparatory exam in October last year. Police suspect that Prashanth bought Group 1 newspapers along with some others.
He was captured based on information provided by other suspects arrested in the case. So far, SIT has arrested 12 people involved in the case, while the scope of the investigation has been expanded to different parts of Telangana.
Meanwhile, the local court allowed police to detain four suspects, Praveen, Rajasekhar, Dakya and Rajeshwar. Police have lodged applications to detain seven people for questioning while the court continues to await detention orders for the remaining three.
