San Francisco: After saying that only verified accounts can appear in For You, Twitter CEO Elon Musk clarified on Wednesday that users will still see tweets from people they directly follow in the For You tab. arts.
Musk tweeted: “Forgot to say that accounts you directly follow will also be in For You as you explicitly asked for it.”
Several users expressed their thoughts on Elon Musk’s post.
Says one user, “There’s already a tab called Follow. As you might expect, it shows you tweets from accounts you follow.”
Another commented: “Show only the best tweets, not the paid ones. That’s the core of the product.”
On Tuesday, the tech billionaire said that starting April 15, only verified accounts will be able to appear in Recommended for You.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Musk had said that paid verification adds 10,000 percent to the cost of bots and makes it easier to identify bots over the phone, so paid accounts will be the only social media that matters.
