Hyderabad: The hot summer can cause a lot of breakouts and skin damage. With heat becoming a part of our daily routine, it’s important to follow some hydration regimen. Here, we’ve listed five DIY cooling face masks to beat the heat:
Aloe Vera and Lemon Juice Mask
Take two tablespoons of aloe vera gel and add two tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to it. Combine the two ingredients to make a paste, apply to face and rinse off after 20 minutes. The mask helps keep the skin moisturized, and the lemon removes oil and leaves the skin with a fresh scent.
Avocado Moisturizing Mask
Mash ¼ avocado in a bowl, add 1 tablespoon oatmeal and 1 tablespoon honey. Mash and blend until combined, then apply mask to face. Rinse face with warm water after 20 minutes. This mask hydrates your skin and leaves it looking plump even on hot days.
Cucumber Cooling Mask
Grate half a cucumber, mix it with a tablespoon of honey and cream in a bowl and mix. Apply the mask on the face and wash off with lukewarm water after 20 minutes. This mask revitalizes your skin while the cucumbers help keep it cool.
Multani Peppermint Mask
Mix one tablespoon of multani mitti, one tablespoon of milk and one tablespoon of rose water with some mint leaf paste. Apply the mask and let it dry for 15 minutes. Rinse off the mask and moisturize. Peppermint in the mask draws out impurities from pores, while multani mitti helps cool down, reduce dark circles and inflammation.
cocoa mask
Mash ¼ avocado and mix with 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder and 1 tablespoon of honey. Leave the mask on dry skin for 10 minutes, then rinse off. Avocado in the mask helps hydrate, while cocoa, a powerful antioxidant, soothes skin.
