Hyderabad: The Special Investigations Team (SIT), which is probing the leak of TSPSC documents, has sent notices to committee secretary Anita Ramchandran and a member Linga Reddy to appear in court in the case. Officials intend to record their statement.
It is learned that TSPSC Chairman B. Janardhan Reddy may also be summoned for questioning.
In addition to leaked test papers, officials are likely to be questioned about the hiring process for outsourced workers.
SIT sources said that prime suspects Praveen and Rajashekar Reddy were planning to steal Group-1 main exam papers and leak them to interested job seekers for huge sums of money. They are in discussions and negotiations with several people to sell it to them. However, the scam was caught and they were caught at the time.
SIT’s investigation also revealed that a total of 15 test papers related to the six posts were leaked by the suspects and sold to several candidates. For their leaked test papers, they are also known to have copied the answers and plan to share them at least a week before the exam date for the benefit of those who paid.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that the central law enforcement agency, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), will open a case to investigate money laundering. With the SIT investigation showing the huge sums of money involved in the case and the possibility of hawala transactions, the ED is expected to separate the case and launch an investigation under the PMLA Act.
However, SIT officials said they had not been contacted by the ED about the details of the thesis leak case. They said that if approached, all necessary details available and gathered during the investigation would be shared.
So far, SIT has arrested 15 people, questioned around 100 people and confiscated Rs 4 lakh in cash from the suspects.
