Defending champions Gujarat Titans beat CSK by five wickets in season opener final

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Titans started their defense of their title with a five-goal win over Chennai Super Kings in their IPL opener on Friday.
Opener Ruturaj Gaikwad hit a staggering 92 off 50 balls after being required to bat, taking Chennai Super Kings to 178/7.
In response, the Titans scored 19.2 points on target.
Shubman Gill was the Titans’ top scorer with 63 on 36 goals.
Earlier, Geekwald had smashed nine sixes, though wickets fell regularly at the other end.
For the Titans, spinner Rashid Khan (2/26) and walkers Mohammad Shami (2/29) and Alzari Joseph (2/33) took two wickets each.
