New Delhi: India has recorded 5,335 new coronavirus cases, a 195-day high, while active cases have risen to 25,587, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Thursday.
On September 23 last year, 5,383 cases were recorded in a single day.

It said the daily positivity rate was 3.32%, while the weekly positivity rate was 2.89%.
According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of Covid cases is 4.47 million (4,47,39,054).
Active cases now account for 0.06% of total infections, while the national Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 98.75%, according to the Ministry of Health website.
The number of recoveries increased to 44,182,538, and the case fatality rate was 1.19%.
According to the ministry’s website, 2,206.6 million doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered so far in the national vaccination campaign.
