Out of all 5,386 post office branches in Telangana, only one office lacks mobile network or internet connectivity

Hyderabad: Except for one post office, all other such offices in Telangana are equipped with mobile network and internet connection. There are a total of 5,386 post office branches in Telangana and they are mostly located in villages and mandala headquarters.
Of the 5,386 post offices, only one has no mobile network or internet connection. Eight post office branches in Gujarat and 18 post office branches in Karnataka lack mobile network or internet connectivity.
Federal Minister of State for Communications Devusinh Chauhan shared the details in the Lok Sabha. Responding to questions from Krishna Pal Singh Yadav and other MPs on Wednesday, the union minister said the government is aware that post offices, especially in areas with difficult terrain, do not have mobile network or internet connectivity.
Currently, 879 post offices do not have a mobile network or internet connection. He said the Postal Service was already working on providing connectivity for post offices without a mobile network or internet connection.
Under the 4G Saturation Project, the Ministry of Telecommunications proposed that 24,680 uncovered villages across the country be covered by 4G services, as approved by the Union Cabinet.
Also boosted to give 20% extra villages. The project also includes upgrading existing 2G/3G sites to 4G services in 6,279 villages. He added that the project will be completed by December 9, 2023.
