Hyderabad: There is a Twitter war going on between the state’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the centre, with the BRS countering the saffron party’s false propaganda and baseless allegations and developments about corruption and central funding of Telangana welfare plan.
It all started on Thursday when the BJP’s official Twitter account @BJP4India posted an animated video accusing Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi, GST of expropriation and misuse of central funds for corruption in Telangana.
The BJP’s tactics of misleading people have drawn sharp criticism and fact-based pushback from Twitterati, with many questioning the extent of corruption in schemes such as Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi and Aasara Pension, which are direct benefit transfer schemes. Also, many caution that the BJP government’s contribution to Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi and other welfare schemes is a big zero.
The BRS continued the tirade, describing the BJP as the “Brashtachari Jumla Party”. The official Twitter account of the BRS Party, @BRSParty, refuted the baseless allegations and posted a series of tweets highlighting flagrant violations of norms and policies tailored for the Adani Group.
Pointing to the Sri Lankan government’s statement that there was pressure from the federal government to allocate a project to the Adani Group, the BRS party slammed the BJP and said: “Stories of corruption in your party and top leaders have crossed the coast!
The BJP is giving new meaning to G2G transactions, it said. “It’s no longer called a ‘government-to-government deal’, it’s a Gautam Adani vs Gotabaya Rajapaksa deal.”
Not only that. The ruling BRS party has exposed the BJP’s “interests” to the corporate tycoons rather than the welfare of ordinary people.
“Supreme leaders are forcing states to import Adani coal at higher prices because sufficient coal is available at cheaper prices in our Indian lands.
“Electricity prices are skyrocketing.
