New Delhi: A fire broke out in an apartment in Delhi’s Kirti Nagar area on Monday night, killing an elderly woman and seriously injuring her son, police said.
The police further informed that the deceased was Mahendra Kaur, aged 78, adding that her son was in critical condition.
“The fire department received a distress call around 1:00 a.m. and our personnel were rushed to the scene. Efforts to contain the fire are still ongoing,” a fire department official said.
Police said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
