Hyderabad: With the Ramzan festival upon us, several parts of the city come alive with festive hustle and shopping. If you’ve been to Charminar before and want to explore the rest of the area, head to Toli Chowk to get into the festive spirit.
It is one of the many places in the city to enjoy street food during Ramzan. In the evening, the section between Mehdipatnam and Gachibowli comes alive with many people from all over the city coming with friends and family to enjoy the delicious food. Much to the delight of the throngs, especially friends, the vibe lasted well into the wee hours of the morning.
As people walk around, they can feel the aroma of popular foods such as kebab, patthar-ka-ghost, haleem and biryani wafting in the air. People flock to these places in great numbers to satisfy their taste buds.
The area also houses some popular restaurants such as Pista House, 4 Seasons and Shah Ghouse, all known for serving Hyderabadi cuisine including haleem during Ramzan. Don’t disappoint vegetarians craving haleem, Pista House offers a variety of vegetarian haleems made with beans, vegetables and lots of dried fruit (especially almonds).
“I came all the way from Vidyanagar to taste the vegetable haleem. I think Pista House’s vegetable haleem is only available at its Toli Chowk branch,” says B Narsimha, a private bank employee.
