Hyderabad: Starting today, Shaakuntalam and Rudhrudu will delight Telugu audiences in theaters. While Shaakuntalam is a period myth romantic drama, Rudhrudu is a complete action entertainer. These films belong to different genres and have their own audiences. Also, both films have positive vibes.
Shaakuntalam is inspired by Kalidasa’s popular drama Abhigyana Shakuntalam. Gunaseka directed the film. Samantha plays the lead and titular character in the film as Shakuntala. Dev Mohan plays her husband King Dushyanta. Neelima Guna and Dil Raju produced the film under the banner of Gunaa Teamworks and Sri Venkateswara Creations. Mani Sharma composed the music for the film.
Shaakuntalam also marks Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha’s debut as a child artist, playing King Bharata in the film. Shaakuntalam is distributed worldwide in many languages. This is a pan Indian film. The movie has already gotten a great response from its premiere.
Rudhrudu is the Telugu version launched by Raghava Lawrence after more than two years. Lawrence had earlier impressed Telugu audiences with his Muni and Kanchana series. Now he is back with Rudhrudu. This time, Lawrence just insisted on taking the lead rather than directing. Kathiresan is the director and producer of the film.
Lawrence promoted the movie by saying that it has a lot of emotion in addition to action. Rudhrudu is built on the emotional element of motherhood. The trailer promises a dynamic action entertainer. We need to wait for the public’s reaction to see if Lawrence can satisfy them with Rudhrudu.
