Patna: Bihar chief Nitish Kumar said on Friday after visiting Delhi to meet prominent opposition leaders that he had decided to travel across the country to unite opposition parties.
Speaking at a gathering at the JD-U office on the occasion of BR Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, he took a swipe at the Narendra Modi government, saying that those sitting at the center don’t believe in jobs, only in propaganda.
“We believe in work and do a lot for the welfare of ordinary people. On the other hand, the people who sit in the center have nothing to do with work. They just want to advertise. These people have nothing to contribute in the freedom struggle, so they want to change the history of the country, “He said.
When Nitish Kumar arrived at the JD-U office, he received a grand welcome with rose petals sprinkled on him and the slogan “Desh ka PM kaisa ho Nitish Kumar jaisa ho”.
During his visit to Delhi, he said: “We had in-depth discussions with the leaders of Congress, AAP and left parties. They all agreed to unite the opposition. I decided to go around the country and unite the maximum number of opposition parties.
“I have been advocating for opposition unity since the formation of the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar. Everyone applauded my decision to leave the NDA. I waited 7 months for a call when they (Congress leaders) called me , I went there and interacted with them.”
