New Delhi: Air India’s Pune-Delhi flight with 180 passengers made a safe emergency landing at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Tuesday after a crack appeared in the windshield.
The airport declared a general state of emergency.
“The pilot of the flight requested an emergency landing and it landed at the IGI at 5:50 p.m.,” one source said.
The pilot suspected something was wrong, and an inspection revealed cracks in the windshield. Although it was a small crack, he decided to make an emergency landing as a precaution, officials said.
It is suspected that a bird struck the windshield.
