Hyderabad: The Ministry of Defense (MoD) has ordered the reopening of 5 roads at the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) – Protenee Road, Byam Road, Richardson Road, Ammuguda Road and Albain Road, which have been closed for many years.
The Ministry of Defense set up a committee to investigate the closure of 39 roads by the Local Military Authority (LMA), but did not complete a process to assess the need for closures based on threat perception. Following the committee’s recommendation, the Ministry of Defense has communicated its decision and has decided to immediately open 12 roads including 5 SCB roads in different parts of the country.
Speaking of Telangana today, Residents in the SCB area expressed their joy, saying that in addition to the 5 roads, more SCB roads should be used by ordinary people. “We are happy to reopen five roads that have been closed for many years. Representatives of Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao have achieved results,” said former SCB member Pandu Yadav.
Apart from the five SCB roads, Parade Road in Delhi, Upper Mall Road in Kasauli and Military Station Road in Ranchi are also some of the 12 roads to be reopened immediately.
