Leaked exam paper case: No interim relief for Bandi Sanjay

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court did not grant interim relief to BJP state chief Bandi Sanjay in exam paper leak case, Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan has not granted his request to order the police not to take coercive measures against him.

On Friday, the chief justice issued notices to the Kamalapur police and the plaintiff school principal, Maturi Shiva Kumar, refusing to pass any interim relief in favor of Bandi Sanjay and adjourning the case until June.

The Chief Justice noted that since the petitioner was already on bail, there was no need for an order not to take coercive measures. The chief justice also wanted to know why there were paper leaks across the country including Gujarat, Bihar and Assam.

Attorney-General BS Prasad said Bandi Sanjay was the offender. The plot was planned from March 1st. The AG said the investigation linked a series of events between the defendants and police had gathered evidence.

The test papers were leaked in the case of Bandi Sanjay, who did not cooperate with the police and even refused to hand over his mobile phone. The AG said police would soon find out where the phone went.

Senior Counsel L Ravichander defended Sanjay in the dismissal petition, claiming that the complainant, Shiva Kumar, who is the principal of the school, did not know what was happening at the test center until he learned it from others.

Ravichander believes claims that a teenager climbed a tree, entered a classroom and took a picture of an exam paper from another student, causing it to be circulated in the 20 SSC WhatsApp group, were “a vague story”.

Ravinchander said the allegation against Bandi Sanjay was that he instructed defendants No. 2 and No. 3 to “take advantage of the situation”, adding that even assuming this was true, it would not constitute a leak on paper. Sanjay has already complained that he lost his phone. He asked if state police didn’t have the technology to retrieve the needed data from cloud storage.
