Hyderabad: The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) is conducting a multi-shift Computerized Recruitment Test (CBRT) for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer (Civil) in various departments on May 21-22 to decide on the candidates.
As many as 44,352 candidates were registered for AEE (civilian) and the insufficient capacity available for single-shift CBRT led the board to decide to conduct the test in multiple shifts.
“The committee has decided to standardize the scores of computer-based test takers taking multiple shifts to take into account any variation in the level of difficulty of papers across shifts. The process of assigning exam shifts to candidates is random,” TSPSC said.
A formula widely used by various organizations and recruitment agencies including the SSC and RRB and recommended by a committee of experts comprising the TSPSC will be used to calculate the candidates’ final marks in the multi-class examination.
It said the calculation of standardized scores would round up to five decimal places and a candidate’s standardized score may differ from the raw score obtained.
TSPSC said that in the event of interruption of the exam due to unforeseen circumstances at any center and shift, the exam will be re-administered with the new shift for those candidates whose exams were interrupted.
“In the event of a break in the last shift, the test will be retaken for the candidates whose exams were interrupted, and the manner in which their scores are normalized will be determined by a committee of experts formed by TSPSC,” the committee added.
