A cannabis plant was found in a municipal garden in Kothagudem
Kota Gooden: Ganja (marijuana) or cannabis plant is something that many people have never seen except in photographs, media or movies. But here is one cannabis plant, all three feet tall, growing in a garden developed by the Kothagudem municipality.
The marijuana plant is said to have been found in a roadside garden developed by the city government as part of landscaping next to the Prakasam Stadium near the Single Township Police Station. A local who spotted and identified the plant notified police.
Sheriff Ghani then arrived at the scene, uprooted the plant and took it to the police station for further action.
The incident caused quite a stir in the town and exposed the negligence of the municipality in maintaining the gardens. The town’s police and members of the public were puzzled as to why the plant had gone unnoticed for so long in a public place.
