Pedapari: A frequency modulation (FM) radio service will entertain people in Ramagundam industrial estate starting Friday as Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicates the service to the nation.
The Ramagundam radio station has been upgraded to an FM repeater station with a capacity of 100 watts and a trial broadcast was conducted in February. As part of the inauguration of 91 FM transmitters across the country, the prime minister will commission the Ramagundam repeater station via virtual mode on Friday.
For this purpose, special arrangements have been made for the FM relay station located in NTPC Temporary Township. Peddapalli MP Venkatesh Nethakani and other members of the public will attend the event.
FM service will be provided to people in the Ramagundam area on 100.1 MHz. Viewers residing within a 15km radius of the station will receive FM service. The program aired from Hyderabad station will be relayed from Ramagondam station.
Ramagundam station was formerly the main station in Karimnagar district as there was only one 5 watt FM station in Karimnagar town. N Manimanjari Devi, director of All India Radio, said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Prasar Bharathi had developed 91 100-watt FM stations across the country to provide FM services to the interior.
Kaghaznagar will also get FM transmitter
Kumram Bheem Asifabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually commission a 100-watt frequency modulation (FM) transmitter in Kaghaznagar on Friday.
All India Radio Deputy Director General (DDG) (Engineering), Hyderabad, Narendra Kumari, said in a statement that Modi will activate the transmitter, one of four in Telangana.
