He doesn’t love her: On Friday, District Administrator Sikta Patnaik made a surprise inspection of various development works going on in the Palakal municipality area. During a tour of the 100-bed hospital, she directed engineering officials to complete construction by August.
The hospital is being built in the town at a cost of Rs 350 crore. She inspected the “Vaikunta Dhamam” model project undertaken by the municipality at a cost of Rs 1 crore and wanted to know how it was going. Officials said they had submitted a proposal to approve an additional Rs 6 million in funding as the works had not yet been completed with the approved funds.
Later, the tax officer inspected the construction works at the RDO office (Rs 2.8 lakh) and Tahsildar office (Rs 2.1 lakh) and directed the officials to complete the works within a month.
After inspecting the construction work of the Rs 4.5 lakh integrated vegetable and meat market, she said the remaining 10 percent should be completed as soon as the additional Rs 3 crore funding is approved. She also asked municipal commissioners to complete municipal construction works within a month. The collector also hopes that the junction development works as part of the beautification of the town should be completed sooner rather than later.
City Chairman Suda Anita Ramakrishna, RDO Ramu Naik, Municipal Commissioner Seshu, Tahsidar Jagan Mohan Reddy and others were present.
