Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata party on Saturday showed its true community colors again in a tweet that sought to stoke religious sentiments over the new Telangana Secretariat. The tweet quickly became a sensation in the BJP, with Twitter users storming the saffron party for the public agenda.
The tweet, from the party’s official Twitter account @BJP4Telangana, claimed that the new Secretariat building was more like a mosque than the State Secretariat, adding that the country’s cultural heritage and splendor had not been reflected in the building. Trying to stoke religious sentiment against the government, it also claimed that the sentiments of the Hindu community were not reflected in the buildings, besides claiming that the Secretariat was only there to please AIMIM.

While the building’s architects have publicly stated that the building for the new secretariat took inspiration and inspiration for the façade domes from the temples and palaces of Telangana, they also stated that the design was inspired by Telangana’s architectural style as well as wet The architectural style of the Goddess, with specific reference to the Neelakanteshwara Temple and Wanaparthy Palace.
However, with the BJP’s official handling parroting, the party’s state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar recently claimed, Twitterati pointed out, that the BJP is desperately trying to spread hatred and spark communal tension in the state for its political gain.
@BJP4India Will you ban Hyderabadi Biryani in Hyderabad? Hyderabad is a mixed culture and home to various religions. Very disappointing to see such a post about the new secretariat in Hyderabad. Please don’t spread hate.

Many pointed to the dome as an integral part of the country’s most famous landmarks, from the Supreme Court to the Mysore Palace and even the Gujarat Parliament building, while others tweeted images of state buildings in the BJP-ruled state, including the Kanata Kaplan Secretariat and Assembly and Gujarat Assembly.

Others also questioned the BJP why the Secretariat building should have religious overtones and why it cannot be considered a work of architecture without trying to dig a public angle into every act of government. A Twitter user also shared a photo of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath showing a photo of the Taj Mahal to former US President Donald Trump.

There are twitter users who support neither BJP nor BRS and ask BJP not to create hatred between Hindus and Muslims. “Our relationship in Hyderabad is very healthy, don’t spoil it. Religion should not be your USP. Try something better,” one Twitter user replied to the BJP’s tweet.
