Hyderabad: This is different. There are no constraints of theater walls, no recirculated air, and no difficulty adjusting in tight seats.
Yes, this movie-watching experience is indeed different. Rest as often as you like under the stars and on the manicured green lawn, with the breeze blowing in your face, and watch the action on the big rolling screen out front.
Hyderabadians are now adapting to a cozy way of watching movies snuggled up with their loved ones under the stars.
The Sunset Cinema Club at One Golf Brewery in the Financial District launched in February and offered an open-air theater experience with a screening of The Proposal over Valentine’s Day weekend.
“The response in Hyderabad has been great, which is why we opened a second venue. As of now, we are showing Hindi and Hollywood movies in Hyderabad and hope to soon be showing Telugu movies as well,” The company’s marketing manager Shivangini Bathla said.
One can relax on comfortable orange beanbag sofas and watch a movie on the big screen for between 200 rupees. 400 to Rs. 500. Movies are only shown on weekend nights.

In addition to the Sunset Cinema Club, several other cafes in the city have also started showing movies when it’s convenient for them. Felica Lounge, a pet-friendly cafe in Hitec City, recently started showing movies every weekend.
“We just recently opened our doors and wanted to provide a comfortable movie-watching experience to entertain our customers. People can bring their pets here and have a great time,” said a Felica staff member.
The service fee to enter the film screening space is Rs. 300 fully redeemable for snacks and drinks. People can also spend time playing with their indoor pets.
Another place to screen movies is the recently launched Corner Sundae in Ameerpet. While they haven’t confirmed a schedule for the film’s screenings, the owners have informed them that regular screenings will be coming soon.
