Active cases account for 0.09% of the total number of infections, while India’s COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.73%.

New Delhi: India recorded 3,720 new cases of COVID-19 infection, taking the number of active cases in the country to 40,177, according to data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday.
Data updated at 8am showed that the death toll due to the viral disease had risen to 5,31,584, an increase of 20 fatalities including five checked by Kerala.
The data shows that the total number of Covid cases in the country now stands at 4.49 crore (4,49,56,716). Active cases now account for 0.09% of total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.73%, according to the Ministry of Health.
The number of people who recovered from the disease jumped to 4,4384,955, while the case fatality rate was 1.18%. According to the ministry’s website, India has so far administered 2,206.6 million doses of the vaccine in a nationwide COVID-19 vaccination campaign.
