The Center’s toll-free hotline number (18004253333) was officially launched on Wednesday when Collector Anurag Jayanti held a meeting with Collector’s psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors and medical staff.
Collector said at the meeting that it will provide different services through the free helpline, including initial mental health problem identification, initial treatment, psychological support, stress management, developing positive attitudes and mental health.
The Kiranam Center will help people with suicidal tendencies, depression, stress, anxiety, disappointment, fear, PTSD, medications, crisis-induced psychological issues, domestic violence, mental health emergencies, and more.
The director of the center said that the toll-free number will be available 24/7. Whenever a call is received from citizens, the center’s psychologists, psychiatrists and counselors will provide counseling for patients and provide them with advice on how to overcome problems. In addition to providing counseling at district hospitals, referrals to hospitals will also be made if necessary. He said center staff would follow up on the health of patients until they recovered, and asked officials to display the toll-free number at all government offices to ensure people knew the Killanan toll-free number.
