San Francisco: Microsoft has started rolling out an update to the Photos app in Windows 11, which includes a wide range of new features, improvements, and fixes based on feedback.
The update is rolling out to Insiders in Canary and Dev Channels.
The Photos app in Windows 11 allows users to view, organize and share photos from their PC, OneDrive and iCloud.
In this update, Microsoft has introduced features such as the slideshow experience, timeline scroll bars, and point fixes.
With the slideshow experience, users can now relive memories and view photos in a slideshow format, complete with transitions, animations and a choice of 25 original musical soundtracks.
According to the company, this is the most requested feature by the community since the launch of the new Photos app in Windows 11.
Additionally, the tech giant is introducing a timeline scroller feature in all Photos, OneDrive, and iCloud Photo gallery views, which group photos by year and month.
With the scroll bar, users can now easily jump to any point in time and find the photo they want.
Users can now remove blemishes or unwanted areas in photos using the Spot Healing feature.
Among other improvements, the company fixed an issue where audio in video files was muted by default.
The app now plays audio by default and preserves user settings in video.
Meanwhile, Microsoft has rolled out Phone Link for iOS to all Windows 11 users and offers iMessage support in 39 languages in 85 markets around the world.
This new feature will allow connectivity between Windows 11 PCs and iOS mobile devices, allowing users to easily connect with their contacts.
