Hyderabad: Federal Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy has accused the state government of irregularities in leasing the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to private groups, saying there is a need for an investigation into the entire leasing process, which he says will cost the state government a huge loss to the state coffers.
Kishan Reddy told a news conference here on Sunday that ORR is estimated to grow by at least 10% per annum, and if tolls increase by 5% to 10%, revenue could reach Rs 7,000 crore. How could the government hand over such a self-made project to private individuals? ’ he asked, adding that if the BJP comes to power in the state, it will order an investigation into the ORR lease agreement.
