Health Services Hiring Board releases shortlist for 1,442 assistant professors in state health departments
Hyderabad: The Medical and Health Services Recruitment Board (MHSRB) on Monday released the shortlist for 1,442 assistant professors in the state health sector, a major milestone in addressing the shortage of senior teachers at the Telangana Government Medical College.
1,442 senior physicians are highly skilled healthcare professionals who have been selected into 34 specialty departments at teaching hospitals affiliated with the Directorate of Medical Education (DME).
Recruitment is based on merit and candidates will be appointed to the newly established medical school based on their preferences.
State Health Minister T Harish Rao congratulated the MHSRB for completing the selection process in a record time of just 5 months. “The entire selection process was transparent. MHSRB was diligent in addressing the concerns of the candidates to ensure that the selection process was completed in a timely manner. I must also take this opportunity to congratulate the Assistant Professors who were selected,” he said.
In addition to strengthening medical education, the recruitment drive is aimed at expanding professional medical services to remote areas.
The government’s proactive approach to filling essential medical positions paves the way for improved access to health care across the state, according to a release.
Minister Harish Rao also highlighted the ongoing recruitment process for 5,204 nurse positions, which is conducted in a transparent and robust online examination system.
This approach ensures a comprehensive and fair selection of qualified candidates, further strengthening the healthcare workforce.
