The camps feature 44 different sports for children aged 6 to 16

GHMC has been organizing various sports camps for kids like badminton, roller skating, cricket, tennis and other games at various locations in Hyderabad. These camps are popular among young people.
Hyderabad: Shobha, 14, is very much looking forward to this summer as it will give her the opportunity to work with an experienced trainer who can guide her through technical issues while developing explosiveness, a crucial aspect for Any sprinter.
The little girl from Seringampali feels that she has encountered a plateau in the 100-meter sprint and looks forward to working with qualified coaches in the coaching camp. Like Shobha, Hyderabad has hundreds of youngsters working hard under the supervision of their coaches, making the most of the ongoing GHMC Summer Coaching Camp.
The summer coaching camps in Hyderabad are very popular among kids due to the systematic approach and 77 part-time coaches and 712 honorarium coaches. The camps feature 44 different sports for children aged 6 to 16. In Seringampari and Kukatpali districts, 118 students are receiving javelin, high jump and long jump training from national coaches. Likewise, 600 students from Khairatabad district and 200 students from Secunderabad district are receiving volleyball training.
Meanwhile, 200 students in Charminar district are undergoing cricket training and 1,000 students in LB Nagar district are undergoing karate training. Hockey, judo, cricket, basketball, archery, badminton and boxing are some of the other sports that will be featured in the 2023 GHMC Summer Coaching Camp, which will conclude on May 31.
“A large number of children from economically weaker areas are attending the camp for a nominal fee,” said a GHMC official.
Badminton, roller skating, cricket and tennis charge a nominal fee of 50 rupees, while other sports charge 10 rupees. The GHMC will also organize competitions during the camp and host awareness sessions on various sports topics, sports quizzes and tournaments for selected games.
There will be a sports quiz from May 8 to May 13, and a championship from May 15 to 19. Likewise, there will be a closing ceremony from May 26 to May 31.
