Hyderabad: Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari said 97.7 percent of villages in the state have mobile connectivity.
The state has more than 4 million mobile connections and phone density (107 per cent) is one of the highest in the country, said the chief secretary, who called the state’s Broadband Commission meeting on Tuesday. Telangana is one of the few states in the country that is aggressively rolling out 5G, she said.
The meeting also reviewed the status of pending “right-of-way” applications and decided to form a working committee to speed up 5G services. The meeting also requested the Chief Secretary to issue the necessary instructions to all engineering departments that excavation should only be carried out after prior notification through the Call Before Dig (CBuD) application.
