Deepak knew his opponents well and called the shots in the first round with his quick movements and precise punches. He went into defensive mode at the start of the second round, using a counter-attack to deliver a powerful left hook to his opponent.
In the third round, Deepak stayed on his toes as Zhang tried to be more aggressive with combos. However, the Indian boxer was too fast for his opponent and won the bout with ease.

Nishant Dev, on the other hand, got the RSC victory in the first round against Palestine’s Nidal Foqahaa. Foqahaa used his height to corner Nishant Dev before the Indian boxer unleashed a series of heavy punches on his opponent, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
Nishant Dev will face Cuba’s Jorge Cuellar in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The third Indian to reach the quarter-finals is Hussamuddin, who will face Bulgaria’s J. Diaz Ibanez.
