Chennai: Hosts Chennai Super Kings beat Delhi Capitals by 27 points on Wednesday, denting the visitors’ chances of reaching the IPL playoffs.
Choosing to bat, MS Dhoni struck 20 off nine balls to help the hosts Chennai Super Kings to a decent 167/8. In response, the DC batsmen found it tough, batting just 140/8 in their 20 overs. Rilee Rossouw topped the score in Delhi with 35 off 37 balls.
Earlier, CSK never really started as the Delhi bowlers were batting regularly. However, Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja (21) broke some much-needed boundaries and maxima to take them past the 160-run mark Spinners Axar Patel (2/27), Kuldeep Yadav (1/28) and Lalit Yadav (1/28) 34) Four wickets were shared between them, while Mitchell Marsh took three scalps.
