Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday raised the Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) for workers working in the new AP District Administrative Centre.
The government has increased the HRA from 12% to 16%. Employees of regional offices in Parvathipuram, Paderu, Amalapuram, Bapatla, Rajahmundry, Bhimavaram, Narasaraopeta, Puttaparthi and Rayachoti will be eligible for the hike.
GO MS:69 has been released by Shamshersingh Rawat, Special Principal Secretary, Ministry of Finance under the direction of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Under the order, HRA was awarded 12% in the 2022 Salary Revision Committee’s recommendation because the new district and tax department did not meet the demographic requirements for HRA to be approved at 16%. Staff at these regional headquarters requested an increase in the HRA to 16%.
After reviewing the situation, the Andhra Pradesh government has ruled that the HRA of the new regional headquarters should be improved. The order took effect on June 1.
