Visakhapatnam: On Thursday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy inaugurated the Sea Harrier Museum on Visakhapatnam Beach Road. On this special occasion, the Navy authorities gave the Chief Minister a tour of the museum.
A Sea Harrier (SH 606) is installed in the New Museum. The construction of the museum cost a total of 100 crore rupees. The museum is located in the 22,000-square-foot Rajiv Smruthi Bhavan on RK Beach Road in the city. The Sea Harrier aircraft were transported from Goa to Visakhapatnam by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) after they were decommissioned in 2016.
It already has naval projects such as the TU 142 M aircraft museum and the INS Kurusura submarine. The public will soon be able to access the Sea Harrier Museum.
Later, the indoor sports complex at MVP Colony was officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister. A basketball court, six badminton courts and a volleyball court are part of the sports complex.
