Nalgonda: Gutha Sukender Reddy, chairperson of the Telangana Legislative Council, has criticized BJP leaders for failing to learn from their defeat in the Karnataka assembly elections and not change their approach.
Speaking at a media conference at his camp office, Reddy said the BJP’s downfall began with their defeat in Karnataka. He stressed that political parties should remember that India is a secular country and leaders should act according to the will of the people. Reddy singled out BJP state chairman Bandi Sanjay’s provocative speech during the state’s “ektha yatra”.
Regarding the Congress Party, Reddy mentioned that despite winning an absolute majority in the Karnataka Assembly elections, the party failed to elect the Chief Minister due to infighting. He cautioned that voting for Congress in elections does not guarantee a stable government in the current situation.
Differentiating the political situation in Telangana from that in Karnataka, Reddy asserted that the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was widely accepted by all segments of the population. He highlighted Chandrashekhar Rao’s commitment to protecting secularism and opposing the Narendra Modi government’s attempts to create divisions based on religion. Reddy believes that the BRS, which remains in power after the upcoming election, will ensure that the state’s development programs and welfare programs continue.
