As many as 14,000 unemployed youths in the Khammam district have registered for a work session at the city’s Swarna Bharathi Institute of Technology (SBIT), Police Commissioner Vishnu S Warrier told the media here on Friday.
As many as 140 companies came forward to provide jobs for nearly 8,150 young people. More than 15,000 job seekers from across the region are expected to attend the job fair. Company representatives will conduct interviews and select them for the jobs, he said. Those who study from Year 10 to degree and PG will be employed. Selected candidates may get a salary ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 80,000 per month and companies are ready to offer higher salaries for those with soft skills and communication skills.
Apart from pharmacies, medical and IT companies, companies in the banking, service and education sectors, phone callers and multinationals will also set up booths at the job fair, the CP said. Warrier pointed out that this is the first time that so many companies have provided employment opportunities on such a large scale in Khammam district, so unemployed youth should use this opportunity to create a better future for them.
He applauds police personnel ranging from the Home Guard to officers who have widely publicized employment agreements in rural areas for the benefit of unemployed youth.
Those who have not registered yet can register on-site and directly participate in the CIIF. Youth in Kothagudem district can also participate in the job fair. CP recommends that candidates must prepare at least 10 resumes as many companies join the job fair.
Other DCP Subhash Chandra Bose, ACP PV Ganesh, Baswa Reddy, Ramoji Ramesh, Rahman, Prasanna Kumar, Venkateshwarlu, Venkata Swamy and CI Tumma Gopi were also present.
