Karim Nagar: On Friday, Karimnagar police arrested two people, including a home guard, for forging a job procedure appointment letter and collecting money from a victim.
The accused have been identified as home guards Manda Sathish Kumar and Myakala Sravan, both natives of Gattududdenapalli, Manakondur mandal. Satish Kumar works as a home caretaker in Jagtial district.
The pair contacted the victim, Md Saleem from Chakunta, Choppadandi mandal, who sought help in finding a job for his wife. The defendant promised her a job as a junior assistant in the Panchayat Raj department and charged him Rs 8 lakh.
The defendant handed Saleem a falsified copy of the work order. Since the copy of the order resembled a color photocopy, Saleem cross-checked it at the Collectorate office and was shocked to find that it was a forged document.
When Saleem confronted the defendants, they refused to return his money. He then lodged a complaint with One Town police, who opened a case and arrested the defendant on Friday.
